Bakers City, Oregon

Cheri Siebler lived for many years in Santee, CA and her youngest son attended the Youth Venture Teen Center in that community. Since then she has carried a deep burden for the hurting youth of her community. A few years back she moved to Baker’s City, Oregon and began to notice the great needs of the youth in her community. She remembered the teen center in Santee and a vision was born to open a new center in Bakers City for the hurting youth. Eventually she got in touch with me asking for help in moving forward. We have met several times and begun talking about possibilities. In her community there are several good churches and a Young Life ministry that is doing great work in the schools. There is a potential partnership in the works to share a building a support each other on the campuses and in the neighborhoods. At the moment they are working on meeting together to figure out a plan, and in the future I may travel to Bakers City to help move the project forward. I will update this article and post more pictures as we make progress.
