UYC / APC Teen Center

In June of 2024 at the Future Quest Youth Conference, I met with Jon Ferreira, the Director of San Diego County for Urban Youth Collaborative to hear about their vision to launch a teen center. Their idea was unique. They would move their San Diego offices for Urban Youth Collaborative, and would have it double as a teen center by partnering with All People’s Church. Urban Youth Collaborative has been running campus clubs on schools across our country and in several others for many years and has built a powerful ministry. They also do an excellent job of partnering with local churches and youth pastors to equip them to run campus clubs and reach the young people of their communities. Adding teen centers to their strategy helps UYC to be even more effective in their work with youth.

The teen center will have offices for UYC staff, a music room, a workout space, a room for learning creative design, a kitchen, a mentoring room, and more.

For the past 16 months we have been walking along side UYC and APC on this journey providing support, training, and resources wherever needed. I recently began meeting with Jon regularly as they near the end of this project and launch their teen center. At the moment they still have several needs to be filled, especially raising the financial support to hire a site director for the center.
