I met Luis Manos at Future Quest Youth Conference where we were sponsoring the youth leaders luncheon. As I shared about Visit Ministries and our work to help churches build family with the hurting young people of their communities, he realized that our visions were very and we could help him to reach young people. We talked a few times and it became clear that they were already hard at work to reach young people and had a very similar vision to us. All they needed was a little help taking it the next step. I planned a trip to Yuma to meet in person and see his church and we began working on planting a teen center.

Their plan is to expand their youth room to make it suitable to double as a teen center. Each day it will be open to young people in the community and one night a week their youth Ministry, Apex will meet there. The hope is that as the center grows, eventually they will move it off campus to a location even closer to where they go to school.

At the moment we are meeting weekly over Zoom to go through the Teen Center Program Manual, and make plans for launching the center. They are working on removing a wall in their youth room and making other renovations. Then they will furnish the center and open it to the community. Below are some pictures from my recent visit.
